Australian soft drink consumption has been proven to be one of the most impressive, or most disturbing statistics in the world. According to the NSW Centre for Public Health and Nutrition, Australians are among the top consumers per capita of soft drinks in the world.

Soft drink consumption is a health risk and a large scale public health issue at that. Excessive consumption of soft drinks or sugar sweetened beverages can be associated with a myriad of health issues and diseases. The conditions associated with excessive consumption include diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity and poor dental health just to start with.
